PeriopSim is easy to use, and has a fun game element. With each attempt, I got more familiar with the instrument names and locations on the "table" - and tried to beat my high score. In the Procedure module, the repetition helped solidify the surgical steps and I was able to anticipate the next instrument needed. Continued practice helped me anticipate the next instrument needed in the Procedure. It was a nice review of general surgery; I haven't scrubbed a Lap Chole in years. The Instrument module was fun since you had to respond quickly - it kept me on my toes. These modules provide an opportunity to get familiar with instruments and practice anticipating surgical needs in a stress-free environment.
